Published on September 3, 2019, Vihiga United has reappointed Tom Tera as an assistant coach, nearly five months after he was fired alongside Francis Xavier and Mike Mururi due to poor performance.
Tom Tera takes over from interim head coach Alex Alumira, who held the role for three months.
He will assist new permanent head coach Sammy Okoth, who was confirmed last week, along with technical director Nick Yakhama and goalkeeping trainer Collins Oduor.
The team, sponsored by the Vihiga County Government, has also unveiled new players and released others in the past week.
Club President Kahi Indimuli justified the reasons for Tera's return, citing the need for continuity and someone familiar with the team's history.
"There is no love lost, football is about performance and there is always an opportunity for a coach or player to come back to a club because maybe that season was not just good for him," Indimuli said.
Indimuli also stated that the head coach has been given a target of ensuring the team earns a promotion back to the KPL.
Additionally, the club has brought on board Ebwali Secondary School captain Samuel Tawayi to strengthen the defense, and aims to sign three more foreigners.
