Published on September 3, 2019, Saumu Mbuvi, the daughter of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, has shared her fears about her daughter's potential future in the public eye.
According to Saumu, her biggest concern is that her daughter may be drawn to the limelight and the pressures that come with it, which could have a lasting impact on her child's life.
Speaking on Radio Jambo, Saumu revealed, "I'm afraid my child will want to become a celeb. The internet is a cruel world and those women [trolls] don't have boundaries."
She also expressed her desire to shield her daughter from the harsh realities of social media, stating, "Nowadays, I limit her access and exposure to the internet, I want her to be more into books and reading. She can make that decision [to be on social media] after she is 18 years old but I will guide her till she is 25 years old."
Saumu's comments come as she has faced intense scrutiny in the past for her lifestyle, with many questioning her choices as a mother and public figure.
