Malkia Strikers Resume Training Ahead of FIVB World Cup

On September 2, 2019, the Malkia Strikers returned home from Morocco after clinching the All Africa Games title. The team, coached by Paul Bitok, was received by Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.

The team will resume training this week in preparation for the FIVB World Cup, which will be held later this month in Japan. During the tournament, Kenya will face off against the United States, Argentina, the Netherlands, Serbia, and Brazil in Hamamatsu, while hosts Japan, Cameroon, Russia, South Korea, and the Dominican Republic will be based in Yokohama.

Kenya will open their World Cup campaign on September 14, 2019, against the United States in Hamamatsu, Japan. After the World Cup, the Kenya Volleyball Federation's target will be to reclaim Africa's ticket to the Olympics.
