On September 3, 2019, a video surfaced showing Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici involved in a heated altercation with a road user in the Kilimani area.
The incident occurred when the Woman Rep's vehicle was seen on the wrong side of the road, almost colliding with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
According to eyewitness Oluoch Dickens, the Woman Rep's vehicle was attempting to overlap and bully motorists, prompting him to confront her.
Mr. Oluoch, who had undergone an operation just two days prior, said he was shocked by the Woman Rep's abusive behavior and was forced to stand his ground despite being in pain.
Ms. Ngirici later admitted her mistake and apologized for her misconduct, stating that she had taken the lesson and appreciated the public's feedback.
"Going by the clip making rounds on social media – Yes, sometime back I had an incident involving overlapping on the road. Sometimes, even leaders are reminded by the citizens about the society and its values," Ms. Ngirici said.
"I took the lesson, appreciated and apologized accordingly. To grow together as one cohesive and harmonious society, we must remind and correct each other whenever we go wrong or make mistakes ~ PWN," she added.
