On November 16, 2017, the National Super Alliance (Nasa) held a prayer rally at the Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi East Constituency, Nairobi, amidst a police ban.

The rally, which coincided with President Uhuru Kenyatta's inauguration at Kasarani Stadium, was attended by Nasa supporters who carried Bibles as instructed by the party.

Edwin Sifuna, Nasa's lawyer and former ODM Senatorial aspirant, confirmed the event, stating that the party had notified the police in advance.

The prayer rally was held to honor those who lost their lives during the anti-IEBC demos, with the government earlier rejecting the move, citing it as illegal and unconstitutional.

However, Nasa insisted that the event would proceed as planned, despite the police ban.
