Wajir Governor Nominates New Public Service Board Members

On 30th August 2019, Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud released a statement to the media announcing the nomination of a new board to oversee Public Service operations in the County.

The new board will be chaired by Jellee Abdi Ibrahim and will have Adow Osman Ahmed as its secretary. The board members include Rashid Osman, Rukia Ali Hassan, Mohamed Abdi Omar, Ahmed Hassan Billow, and Deka Noor Adan.

According to the Governor, the nominations were made after considering all constitutional requirements, including the need to reflect the ethnic diversity and regional dynamics of Wajir County.

"I have considered the need to reflect the ethnic diversity and regional dynamics of Wajir County," said Governor Abdi in a letter dated 30th August 2019.

The new board will serve for six years once they are approved by the County Assembly of Wajir. In a letter to the County Assembly Members, Governor Abdi urged them to expedite the approval process to facilitate a smooth transition of the board and continuity of service delivery.

"I petition the County Assembly to expedite the approval process to facilitate a smooth transition of the board and continuity of service delivery," Governor Abdi said.
