With the hustle and bustle of daily life, many Kenyans find themselves with little time to do their laundry or clean their houses. This was the opportunity that Jackie Kamau, founder of The Laundry Lady, saw and seized in 2017 when she found herself jobless.
Armed with a washing machine, a dryer, and five cleaning ladies she had worked with previously, The Laundry Lady was born on September 1, 2018. Her first client was an international school that needed its staff clothes cleaned, and she was determined to deliver exceptional service to ensure customer loyalty.
Today, The Laundry Lady is an on-demand laundry and house cleaning service company that aspires to exceed client expectations by providing high-quality service, convenience, affordability, and utmost customer service. Their clientele varies from university/college students, families, mothers with newborn babies, bachelors, and other groups of people looking for clean, reliable, and convenient laundry or house cleaning services.
As a start-up, The Laundry Lady has faced its challenges, including the rainy weather that made it difficult to meet client deadlines and an incident where four different clients' clothes got mixed up. However, Jackie has learned to handle such matters while reassuring her customers.
With a team of seven cleaning ladies who are thoroughly vetted to ensure they are professionals with integrity, The Laundry Lady is constantly seeking feedback from clients to improve their services. As they celebrate their one-year anniversary, Jackie is hopeful and expectant that the next year will see them experience exponential growth in terms of their client base.
