Published on September 3, 2019, Joe Mwangi, the embattled manager of child star Wendy Waeni, has been arraigned in court on serious allegations.

Police are seeking to detain Mwangi for seven days on charges of forgery, claiming that he allegedly forged a letter purporting to be from Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and sent it to the complainant, Magdalene Syombua, in an attempt to intimidate her.

The prosecution further alleges that Mwangi intends to travel to London to evade the jurisdiction of the court and that he switched off his mobile phones, making it difficult for the police to arrest him.

However, Mwangi's defence team has submitted that his phones were off because he was avoiding numerous messages from unknown people, which made him feel threatened.
