McDonald Mariga's Football Career Remains a Mystery Since Joining Politics

McDonald Mariga, a former Inter Milan midfielder, has refused to discuss his football career since joining politics. He has been nominated to contest the Kibra parliamentary seat, which was left vacant after the death of Ken Okoth.

Mariga, who played for Real Oviedo between 2017 and 2018, has been a key figure in Jubilee Party's nomination process for the Kibra by-election, which is scheduled for November 7.

According to the National Elections Board (NEB) of Jubilee Party, Mariga emerged as the top candidate after a series of interviews with the party's officials.

However, when asked about his football career, Mariga remained tight-lipped, saying he would only discuss it when the time is right.

“I will tell you when the time is right, whether I am still playing or not,” Mariga said in an interview on September 2.

Mariga has also stated that he wants to contest the Kibra parliamentary seat to help the people in the community. He has lived in the Karanja area of Kibra for a long time and understands the needs of the people.

“I am contesting this seat because I want to help the people in the community. I have lived in Karanja area of Kibra for a long time, so I know what the people need,” Mariga said.

Mariga's nomination has been seen as a surprise move by Jubilee Party, which has been trying to strengthen its presence in the Kibra constituency.
