Capital Markets Authority Seeks New Chief Executive

On September 3, 2019, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) board announced the start of the process to identify a suitable candidate to succeed the current Chief Executive, Mr. Paul Muthaura.

Mr. Muthaura's contract expires on December 31, 2019, and the position will fall vacant in January 2020.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing vision and leadership in the regulation and development of Kenyan Capital markets, as well as developing and implementing strategies to address emerging issues, risks, and opportunities to safeguard investor confidence and market integrity.

The requirements for appointment include a Master's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Insurance, or equivalent, and at least 10 years of relevant experience at a senior management level.

The successful candidate will be engaged on a four-year contract renewable once and will report to the Chairman of the Board of directors.
