On Sunday, Deputy President William Ruto used his official Twitter handle to address a front-page story published by a local daily, which alleged he was involved in a drama at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) when President Uhuru jetted back in the country last Thursday morning.

According to the story, Ruto had allegedly been involved in a drama at JKIA, but he denied the claims on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of the story as evidence of its inaccuracy.

He also stated that Jubilee is built on a solid-rock philosophy and believes no amount of propaganda can undermine their work.

Previously, Ruto would either ignore similar stories or seek clarification through his aid or respond directly to the stories during public rallies.

However, the Media Council of Kenya Deputy Chief Executive Victor Bwire advised Ruto to take advantage of the existing legal mechanisms to raise his complaints against the media publishing fake news.
