Published on September 3, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto's son Nick Ruto is making waves in the political scene, with some speculating that he may be following in his father's footsteps.

While speaking at the Mohamed CPK Cup, a volleyball tournament sponsored by businessman Mohamed Abdalla, Nick Ruto urged the youth to take up leadership positions and participate in sports events.

“The people in leadership will trust us and empower us if we show they can trust us. “Sports is the new drug. All youth, wherever they are in Kenya, should come out and participate in such events,” said Nick Ruto.

Abdalla, the Crown Petroleum Kenya boss, also spoke at the event, highlighting the need for the government to support initiatives that help the youth avoid drugs and crime.

With the 2022 elections on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether Nick Ruto will indeed vie for the Turbo seat, but one thing is certain – he is making a name for himself in the world of politics.
