On September 3, 2019, a teacher at Simotwet Secondary School in Narok County was caught in a compromising situation with a female student at a lodging in Transmara East.
The teacher, identified as Nathan Kosgei, was detained at Emmurua Dikirr Police Station after members of the public reported the incident to the authorities.
According to Area Assistant Chief Richard Bett, the public called him after the student was spotted in a room rented by the teacher.
Chief Bett then alerted the police, who forced their way into the room and arrested the duo.
The teacher and the student were taken to the Transmara West sub-county hospital for a medical assessment to determine if they were engaging in sexual relations.
