On September 1, 2019, a box containing millions of fake US dollars was abandoned near Coptic Hospital along Ngong Road in Nairobi.
The fake notes, which included Euros, were in different stages of manufacturing, with some ready for distribution and others in the final stage of formation.
Police officers from Kilimani rushed to the scene and collected the box, which contained $640,000 in fake US dollars, $2.4 million in the final stage of formation, 2,350 fake Euros, and 15 liters of washing chemicals in powder form.
Nairobi Police Commander Philip Ndolo confirmed that investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
“Investigations are ongoing. No arrests have been made so far to enable us to know the motive,” said Ndolo.
