Published on September 2, 2019, Pastor James Ng'ang'a, the leader of Neno Evangelism, has been at the center of controversy following the release of several clips showing him rebuking and insulting his congregants.

According to Pastor Ng'ang'a, he is simply acting on behalf of God, and his actions are aimed at bringing his followers back to the right path.

"I am acting on behalf of God. I rebuke members of my church to bring them back to God. I am a father, and a father knows what his children need. My children can do with a little rebuking," Pastor Ng'ang'a was quoted by Standard Digital.

However, not everyone is convinced by Pastor Ng'ang'a's explanation. Some of his followers have expressed concerns over his change in behavior, with one follower, Florence Ngaita, noting that he used to be a gentle person.

Ms. Ngaita, who credits Pastor Ng'ang'a's preaching with helping her overcome grief after losing her son, said: "Every day, it is like he is changing and becoming a new person. He used to be very gentle."
