On August 10, a disturbing incident occurred in Nairobi's Pipeline area, specifically in the Telaviv area, where a security guard allegedly committed a serious breach of personal boundaries.
Emily Wanyama, a street vendor who sells tea, reported to the police that Joseph Waweru, a security guard, indecently touched her against her will.
According to the police, the incident took place while Wanyama was serving a customer at a popular pool table joint. Waweru allegedly approached her from behind, spanked her buttocks, and squeezed her breasts hard.
Furthermore, the police stated that Waweru also kicked the tea flask, causing it to roll on the ground, before fleeing the scene.
Joseph Waweru was subsequently charged with assault and released on a Sh200,000 bond. The case is set to be heard on December 2.
