Northern Wanderers handed a rude welcome to the National Super League (NSL) after losing their opening match 2-1 to Kariobangi Sharks.
The match, played at the Hope Centre in Mombasa, saw Kariobangi Sharks take an early lead through a goal from their striker, before Northern Wanderers equalized in the second half.
However, the hosts managed to snatch the winner in the dying minutes of the match, leaving Northern Wanderers with a disappointing start to their NSL campaign.
Despite the loss, Northern Wanderers' coach, expressed confidence in his team's ability to bounce back from the defeat and make a strong push for promotion to the top-tier league.
