Published on September 2, 2019, a group of Kenyans is counting their lucky stars after a harrowing experience at Hell's Gate National Park.

On a fateful day, a tour group led by Eddie Mors African Tour and Safari's visited the park, but wisely decided to avoid the gorges where flash floods had occurred.

As fate would have it, the group decided to head to the Olkaria spa instead, narrowly escaping the disaster that befell others.

Eddie Mors African Tour and Safari's responded to a tweet by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), saying:

"We were at the Hells Gate National park but decided not to go to the gorges and go to olkaria spa instead. That is how lucky we were."

Tragically, 6 bodies of tourists were recovered from the flash floods, with one body still missing.

As the search continues, the Hell's Gate National park has been closed indefinitely, with the KWS leading the efforts to locate the missing body.

Our condolences go out to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the flash floods.
