Kenya: TV Comedian 'Inspekta Mwala' to Face Charges Over Fatal Accident

Published on September 2, 2019, TV comedian Davies Mwabili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, will face charges in court after a fatal accident in Kilifi County.

On Sunday last week, Mr Mwabili knocked down and killed 35-year-old Ismael Mangi in Kwa Randu along the Mazeras highway.

Mr Mwabili was driving from Kaloleni town and was overtaking another vehicle when he knocked Mr Mangi, who was crossing the road.

Mr Mwabili is out on a Sh40,000 police bond and is expected to be arraigned in Mariakani, Kilifi County on Friday.

Rabai Police Sub-County Commander David Maina confirmed that Mr Mwabili will be charged with causing death through dangerous driving.

Mr Maina denied claims that the family has been allowed to settle the matter out of court, stating that the case cannot be settled out of court as it is a matter of public interest.
