Administration Police Officer Dies in Thika Factory Accident

On September 2, 2019, a tragic accident occurred at the Africa Spirits factory in Thika, Kiambu County, owned by billionaire Humphrey Kariuki.

Administration Police officer Samuel Njogu Mwaura was manning the factory when he slipped and fell from a spiral metal staircase, resulting in fatal injuries.

Thika Sub-County Deputy Police Commander Bernard Ayoo identified the officer and confirmed that he died after being rushed to Thika Level Five hospital.

"At the moment we cannot tell the exact circumstances that led to his death. A postmortem shall help establish what exactly happened," Mr Ayoo said.

According to eyewitnesses, the officer sustained a cut on the back of his head before being pronounced dead at the hospital.

The body was taken to General Kago mortuary for further investigation and autopsy.
