Administration Police Officer Dies in Thika Factory Accident

On September 2, 2019, a tragic accident occurred at the Africa Spirits factory in Thika, Kiambu County, owned by billionaire Humphrey Kariuki.

Administration Police officer Samuel Njogu Mwaura, who was manning the factory, slipped and fell down a spiral metal staircase, resulting in his death.

Thika Sub-County Deputy Police Commander Bernard Ayoo identified the officer and confirmed that he died after being rushed to Thika Level Five hospital.

According to Mr. Ayoo, a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the officer's death.

Witnesses reported that the officer sustained a cut on the back of his head before being taken to the hospital.

The body was later taken to General Kago mortuary for further investigation.
