On Sunday, comedian and actor Kevin Hart was involved in a car crash on Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles County, resulting in major back injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol report, Hart was riding in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda with two other people in the early hours of Sunday.

The driver, Jared Black, lost control of the car and it rolled into a gully, trapping Black and the third passenger, Rebecca Broxterman, inside.

Hart, 40, went for help, while Black and Broxterman, 31, were transported and treated at nearby hospitals for their injuries.

Broxterman, who is Black's fiancée, sustained no injuries in the crash.

Black, 28, was determined not to have been driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

Hart is a popular comedian and actor, known for roles in The Secret Life of Pets and Jumanji.

He was previously asked to host the 2019 Oscars but pulled out when old homophobic tweets of his resurfaced.
