Sarah Cohen Speaks Out on Tob Cohen's Disappearance ¶
On July 20th, 2019, Sarah Cohen, the wife of missing Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen, finally broke her silence on his disappearance, aiming to set the record straight and clear her name.
According to Sarah, Tob Cohen was in an unstable state of mind before his disappearance, citing his history of erratic behavior and mental health issues. She revealed that Tob had been worried about his mental health for a while, and that he had been experiencing episodes of violence and aggression.
One such incident occurred in 2006 at Windsor Golf & Country Club, where Tob was expelled from the club due to violent conduct. In 2013, he was suspended from Muthaiga Golf Club for six months after being accused of violence, disrespect, and threatening behavior.
However, Sarah's claims are disputed by Tob's sister, Gabrie, who suspects Sarah of being complicit in her brother's disappearance. Released screenshots of conversations between Sarah, Gabrie, and Bernard Cohen appear to contradict Gabrie's suspicions, showing that Sarah had been discussing Tob's mental health issues with them for a while.
On December 22, 2018, at Sarah's daughter's traditional wedding, Tob became intoxicated and rowdy, soliciting sex from guests and threatening to divorce Sarah and chase out their daughter. In the subsequent days, Tob refused to accompany his wife and guests on a safari, stating he was in a 'war mood', and broke into the family safe to take all the family documents.
Mr. Cohen went missing on July 20, after leaving his house in a white car that had been waiting for him outside the gate. A day before he went missing, a letter addressed to the Dutch Embassy in Nairobi and signed by Sarah indicated that Tob was battling depression and often picked fights with those around him.
Investigations are still ongoing.
