Published on September 2, 2019, a 60-year-old woman and her 13-year-old nephew were brutally murdered at Umala village in Alego/Usonga sub-county on Saturday night.
The victims, Pamela Adhiambo Ogola and her nephew, were found in a pool of blood at the woman's home after they were hacked to death by unknown people at around 8pm.
According to East Alego location Chief Jared Makana, the woman's neighbors heard her screaming and rushed to her compound only to find they were already dead.
Police were immediately informed of the killings, and the bodies were taken to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
This incident comes after another elderly woman was killed in Embu East Sub-county in June this year, with her body dumped outside her house.
