Published on September 2, 2019, Trina Njoroge, a 23-year-old Kenyan-American woman, is making waves in the pageant world as she prepares to compete in the 2020 Miss California USA.
Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Trina has a strong passion for pageantry, which she has been pursuing since her teenage years. She started out with the Miss Teen Bakersfield pageant, where she won several awards, including the second runner-up, people's choice award, and most photogenic award.
Trina's pageant journey took a significant turn when she won the inaugural Face of Kenya Pageant in 2015. The charity pageant focused on giving back to the Kenyan community, and Trina's efforts raised up to $8,000 USD for her charity, Angels Forgotten, which is a school in Kenya for kids who are orphans due to the epidemic of HIV/AIDS.
With the funds raised, Trina was able to expand the school, renovate their campus, and build a well closer to the school, making it easier for the students to access water. After winning the Face of Kenya, Trina took a break from pageantry to concentrate on her studies, but now feels it's time to pursue her passion.
As a licensed psychiatric technician nurse, Trina has gained valuable experience working in mental health. She believes that her experience and advocacy for the youth make her an ideal candidate for the 2020 Miss California USA pageant.
The pageant will be held in San Gabriel, California on January 25th, 2020. With a rich history dating back to 1952, the Miss California USA pageant is a prestigious event that selects the representative for the state of California in the Miss USA pageant and is part of the Miss Universe Organization.
