On September 1, 2019, a devastating flood swept through Hell's Gate National Park in Naivasha, leaving a trail of destruction and loss of life.

At least six people are feared dead, with five of the missing being tourists and one their tour guide.

According to sources, the victims were local tourists who were on a tour of the park.

One of the survivors managed to escape the raging floods and alerted officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service, who were manning the park at the time.
