On November 7, 2019, Kibra residents will head to the polls to elect a new Member of Parliament following the death of Ken Okoth.
Ford Kenya Party, led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, has unveiled Eng. Khamisi Butichi as its candidate for the seat.
Speaking during his unveiling, Butichi vowed to transform the livelihoods of Kibra residents if elected.
Butichi's entry into the by-election marks a significant moment in the contest, which is expected to be fiercely contested by other parties including ODM, Jubilee, and Amani National Congress (ANC).
Butichi's background in politics is not new, having previously vied for the Ikolomani Parliamentary seat in Kakamega during the 2017 elections.
