Published on September 1, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto emphasized that the Jubilee administration is still focused on fulfilling its pre-election pledges, despite the ongoing political wrangles within its ranks.

Speaking at Kangaita Catholic Church in Kirinyaga Central Sub-county during a fundraiser, Ruto highlighted the government's efforts to improve the lives of residents. He noted that the number of households connected to power in the county has risen since 2013, with 85,000 households currently benefiting from electricity.

“As of today, 85,000 households in this county are all connected to power while Sh900 million has been set aside during this financial year to supply electricity to 20,000 more residents,” Ruto said.

The Deputy President also announced plans to tarmac most roads in the area, which will open the county to agricultural product markets. Additionally, the government has embarked on a Sh1.5 billion water system and a Sh700 million sewerage system to alleviate water shortages and improve sanitation in Kerugoya and Kutus towns.

Ruto warned those questioning his generous donations to the church, stating that they are fighting God. He emphasized that the government's efforts are aimed at improving the lives of the people and that the more they give, the more they receive.

The Deputy President also highlighted the government's commitment to technical training for the youth, with a Sh30,000 bursary awarded to every student to encourage enrollment in Technical Institutions.
