On a thrilling Sunday at the RFUEA grounds, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) emerged victorious in the Christie Sevens tournament, defeating Nakuru 12-7.

Published on September 1, 2019, the match saw KCB's Alphas Adunga land a crucial try, securing the win for his team.

Geoffrey Okwatch's high tackle earned him a sin-binning, allowing Nakuru to capitalize on their numbers and score through Monate Akuei, with Geoffrey Ominde adding the extras to lead 7-0.

However, Okwatch's swift return from the sin-bin saw him score, leveling the game at 7-7 before the teams took a break.

With KCB recycling the ball effectively, they managed to secure a scrum after Nakuru opted for a penalty and touch. The subsequent push by skipper Davis Chenge and Andrew Amonde paved the way for Adunga's try.

The victory marked KCB's third win in the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Series, stretching their lead to 94 points. With only the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa remaining, KCB will need to secure a semi-final spot to clinch the Series title.

Impala Saracens claimed bronze by defeating Mwamba 21-14 in the playoffs for third place. Billy Omondi, Anthony Odhiambi, and Elkeans Musonye each scored a try for Impala, with Xavier Kipng'etich adding the extras.

Meanwhile, Stellah Wafula touched down a brace of tries as Impala Saracens stunned Mwamba 22-7 to win the women's title at Christie Sevens. Nakuru thrashed Northern Suburbs 22-0, with Agnes Wangare landing a hat-trick to secure bronze.
