Kenyan international Victor Wanyama's transfer to Club Brugge in Belgium is facing a major setback, with the deal now on the brink of collapse.
According to reports, Wanyama was still in London on Sunday, just a day before the close of Europe's transfer window, and it is now looking increasingly unlikely that he will make the move to Brugge.
Despite Tottenham Hotspur believing they had an agreement in place to sell Wanyama for approximately KES 1.2 million last week, other financial issues remain unresolved.
Wanyama, who has two years left on his contract with Spurs, is said to be hesitant about rushing into the wrong move, despite being keen on reviving his career after being on the periphery of Mauricio Pochettino's plans.
Other clubs, including Celtic, Monaco, Valencia, and Bologna, have also shown interest in Wanyama, but ideally wanted an initial loan deal, while Tottenham wishes for a permanent move.
Wanyama is being offered a four-year contract by Brugge, which would involve a pay cut for the 28-year-old midfielder.
