Six Dead, Nine Injured in Naivasha Matatu Accident

Naivasha witnessed a devastating road accident on Saturday night, September 1, 2019, when a lorry rammed into an oncoming matatu at Nyakairu center, claiming the lives of six people.

Four people, including the driver of the truck and three matatu passengers, were killed instantly in the accident.

Naivasha Deputy OCPD John Kwasa confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies have been transferred to the Naivasha District Hospital mortuary.

James Kabono, Chairperson of the Naivasha Road Safety Association, has since blamed the lorry driver for the accident.

Naivasha East MCA Stanley Karanja suggested that speed bumps be erected in the black spot to reduce fatal accidents.
