On a fateful Friday, a 31-year-old boda boda rider from Nyakiambi Sub-location in Miragine, Nyandarua County, made a devastating decision that would change the lives of his family members forever.
According to reports, the man slaughtered his two sons, aged nine and seven, before taking his own life by hanging.
His lifeless body was discovered in the evening by family members who broke into his house, a scene that would haunt them for the rest of their lives.
Investigations revealed that the man had left a suicide note indicating his frustration with his in-laws, who had taken away his second wife two years ago.
His first wife had left him four years ago, leaving behind the two children who were tragically killed.
Speaking to the press, Mirangine Sub-County Police Commander, Edwin Ogwuari, stated that he could not reveal the details of the suicide note as it is being used in the ongoing investigations.
His second wife, Teresia Nyakinyua, shared a harrowing account of their tumultuous relationship, revealing that she had left him due to violence, where at some point he had injured her with a knife.
She also revealed that he had continually threatened her, and even before he killed his children and took his own life, he had threatened her that one of them had to die.
Just days before the tragic event, the man had shaved his dreadlocks using a razor-sharp panga, saying it symbolized all the problems he had gone through in life.
