On August 31, 2019, Ulinzi Stars secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 defeat of debutants Kisumu All Stars at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
Enosh Ochieng scored two second-half goals in five minutes to lead Benjamin Nyagweso's side to victory.
Ulinzi Stars' coach Benjamin Nyagweso praised his team for coming out stronger in the second half and controlling the match.
"We didn't start the match well in the first half and did a lot of defending as we tried studying our opponents. The second half was, however, great with Enosh coming out lively to show what he can do," Nyagweso said.
Kisumu All Stars' coach Henry Omino attributed the loss to the club's inexperience in the top flight league after a 20-year absence.
"We were not clinical in the first half and started slowly in the second half leading to the early goals. This is a learning loss to us and we will come back stronger," Omino said.
