Diaz made an immediate impact, starting in a 2-0 Premier League victory over Leicester City after debuting off the bench in an FA Cup win against Cardiff City.
Klopp also praised Diogo Jota, who scored both goals in the Leicester match. The Portuguese winger, who joined Liverpool in 2020, has quickly established himself as a key player. "Timing is crucial in transfers," Klopp said, noting that Jota's acquisition in 2020 avoided potential competition from other clubs.
The manager acknowledged the risks of high-profile signings, citing Mohamed Salah's potential as a Roma star. "If Salah had stayed at Roma, he might have attracted other clubs," Klopp added. "It's about what you need in that moment."
Liverpool, currently second in the Premier League, faces Burnley on Sunday as they aim to close the nine-point gap to leaders Manchester City.
