On August 31, 2019, Carl Tundo and Tim Jessop secured their first win of the 2019 Kenya National Rally Championship season at the 2019 KCB Nanyuki Rally.
The duo, who have a historic five victories in the World famous Safari Rally, returned to competition after missing the Mombasa Rally two weeks prior.
They dominated the fifth round of the KCB Kenya National Rally Championship, which attracted 25 drivers, with Tundo scoring the fastest stage times in all competitive sections.
Out of 25 drivers, 16 crews finished the race, with Baldev Chager in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo10 taking second place and Manvir Baryan, the triple African Rally Champion, finishing third in his Skoda Fabia.
Other notable performances came from Ian Duncan, who finished fourth driving a Nissan Pickup, and Nikhil Sachania, who drove a specially prepared Mitsubishi Lancer for a handicapped driver and finished ninth.
However, the rally was marred by mechanical failures, with several drivers retiring due to issues with their vehicles.
The next three rounds of the 2019 KNRC remain, with the Simba Union Club, Rallye Sports Club, and Western Kenya Motor Club of Eldoret hosting the events.
