On August 31, 2019, police in Kasarani made a significant breakthrough in the fight against car theft, arresting three suspects believed to be part of a notorious syndicate.
The suspects, identified as Stephen Njoroge Njihia, Gladys Wanjiku, and Francis Kinyanjui, are being detained at Kasarani Police Station.
According to Area OCPD Peter Kimani, the gang leader, Stephen Njoroge Njihia, has been a target of their investigation for a long time.
The police also seized drugs allegedly used by the gang on their victims, as well as two vehicles believed to have been stolen and SIM cards recovered from the suspects.
Area DCIO Mwenda Meme noted that the police have begun undercover investigations following numerous complaints from the public, with the most affected areas being Seasons in Kasarani, Garden Estate, and Kahawa West.
Police are also searching for a fourth suspect who remains at large.
