President Kenyatta Congratulates Kenyan Sports Teams

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been closely following the performances of Kenyan teams in international sporting events, and he is impressed by their strong showing at the African Games in Rabat, Morocco.

On August 31, 2019, the President congratulated the teams for their outstanding performances, citing the country's ranking of 7th at the African Games with a total of 31 medals, 11 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze.

Kenya's performance at the African Games was notable, with the country's national women's volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, winning gold and retaining their title as African Champions.

Other notable performances included a silver medal win by boxer Shaffi Bakari in the 52kg flyweight, a half marathon gold win by Titus Ekiru, and a podium sweep by Kenya in men's 5000m, as well as a gold win by George Manangoi in 1500m.

The President also congratulated the Kenyan team that finished second at the World Martial Arts Mastership Tong Il Moo Do in South Korea for a splendid performance, highlighting the country's potential in martial arts.
