On August 28, 2019, Rashida Yahaya Bello, the wife of the Governor of Kogi State, Nigeria, surprised a homeless woman with a fully furnished two-bedroom apartment.

The donation was made through the Rashida Bello Foundation, an organization established by the Governor's wife to support the welfare of the less privileged.

According to local media, the fully furnished apartment came with complete foodstuffs and new clothes, providing a comfortable living space for the homeless woman.

In a statement, Rashida Yahaya Bello said that the donation was in line with the commitment of the present administration to the welfare of the less privileged, and she promised to do more to alleviate the suffering of women, children, and the less privileged in the society.

Reacting to the gift, the recipient, a jubilant Salihu, expressed gratitude to God for using Bello to solve her accommodation problem and thanked the Governor's wife for the kindness.
