On Friday, August 30, 2019, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) took swift action against a driver of Naboka Travellers Sacco after a dash cam video captured him driving recklessly on a blind corner in Lang'ata.

The Authority's attention was drawn to social media reports of the bus, bearing registration number KCV 850D, overtaking carelessly and endangering the lives of passengers.

NTSA summoned officials of the Sacco to address the issue, and after deliberations, they decided to revoke the licence of driver Godfrey Njuguna, who holds a class A endorsement and PSV licence.

The driver will be required to undergo re-testing to assess his driving competencies, and all the Sacco's drivers and conductors will undergo a road safety sensitization organized by the Authority.

NTSA thanked the public for being vigilant and reporting incidences of rogue drivers on the roads, and urged passengers to speak out when driven recklessly.

NTSA's swift action was prompted by a tweet from @TINTafrica, which shared a video of the reckless driving incident on August 28, 2019.
