DP Ruto Assures Kenyans on Census Data Security

On August 31, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto addressed residents at Ndamana Secondary School in Emurua Dikirr, Narok County, during the launch of various development projects.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation with enumerators in the census exercise, stating that the process would inform the country's development plan.

“We should not be worried about the questions posed to us. Reliable evidence would further our agenda for the benefit of the people,” he said.

DP Ruto assured those who had not been counted that they would not be left behind, and that accurate and reliable numbers would enable the government make policy decisions that favour everyone.

He urged all Kenyans to cooperate with officers taking part in the census, saying, “We do not want to leave anyone behind as we seek to make our society equitable.”

Narok Governor Samuel ole Tunai also spoke at the event, praising the support the people had extended to the enumerators and highlighting the benefits of the census exercise, including profiling individual needs in areas such as health, employment, education, and security.
