On a golden evening in Rabat, Morocco, Kenyan athletes made a lasting impression at the African Games, securing five gold medals on the final day of track and field events on Friday, August 30, 2019.
Vanice Kerubo stole the show with an unexpected gold in the women's 400m hurdles, clocking 56.95 seconds to surpass Lamia Lhabz, who took silver in 56.97 seconds.
Just minutes later, Kenya swept the podium in the 5000m, with Robert Kiprop, Edward Zakayo, and Richard Kimunyan Yator claiming gold, silver, and bronze respectively.
