Naibu Rais William Ruto has assured Kenyans that everyone will be counted by August 31, as the country prepares for the national census.
Speaking in Narok on August 30, Ruto emphasized that no one will be left out, and those who have not been counted by the deadline are urged to report to their local chiefs' offices.
"I want to assure those who have not been counted that they should not worry. We will ensure that every Kenyan is counted, so they should not worry," Ruto said.
He explained that the census is crucial in helping the government plan for education, healthcare, and other development projects, and that it will provide an accurate count of the country's population.
"We want to know how many of our people are living with disabilities, and the total number of Kenyans, so that we can plan accordingly," Ruto added.
The government has also assured that the census will not be extended beyond August 31, and those who have not been counted by then are expected to report to their local chiefs' offices.
