Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season kicked off on a dramatic note on Friday, August 30, 2019, with Posta Rangers stunning Sofapaka FC 2-1 at the near-empty Narok County Stadium.
Elly Asieche gave Sofapaka the early advantage with a penalty in the first half, but Gerson Likono equalized for Posta just two minutes into the restart with a long-range shot.
Eliud Lokuwam sealed the turnaround for Posta with a goal on the hour-mark, completing a remarkable second-half rally.
Meanwhile, Western Stima FC secured a 2-2 away draw against Kariobangi Sharks at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, thanks to a late penalty conversion by Samuel Abawa.
