On Thursday, K24's prime time news anchor Rose Gakuo had a confrontation with governors that left them speechless. The incident occurred during a press conference where the media was invited to cover the governors' address.
According to the media invitation, the press conference was scheduled to start at 12:30 pm. However, the county bosses showed up two hours later, at 2:30 pm, leaving the journalists, including Gakuo, to wait for over two hours without lunch.
Gakuo, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, expressed her frustration with the poor time management. 'The problem is the media invitation which indicated that we should be here at 12:30. We have waited for more than two and a half hours, which is unfair on our side. We don’t mind being here at two, a moment’s notice is enough for us,' she said.
The governors, led by Hon Wycliffe Oparanya of Kakamega County, were forced to apologize for the inconvenience caused and urged the journalists to bear with them.
