Published on August 30, 2019, fashion enthusiasts have witnessed a wide range of shoe trends over the years. While some have become timeless classics, others have left us questioning the designers' sanity.

One such trend is the shoe that covers all toes except the big toe. Y/Project's design has made an appearance on various catwalks and retails for almost Sh103, 000 ($1, 000).

Another trend that has left many scratching their heads is the Tabi boot. Designed by Maison Margiela, these boots feature a unique design that resembles horse hooves. A pair of silver sequin boots retails at Sh113, 000 ($1, 100) on their website.

Thigh-high uggs, a collaboration between Ugg and Y/Project, have also made their way into the fashion scene. Priced at Sh24, 000 (£195), these boots have left many wondering why they need to be so high.

Andreia Chaves' invisible shoes, designed using 3D printing, have also gained attention. While they may look cool at first, how long will you be able to look at them before your eyes start hurting?

Toe shoes have also become a thing, with some featuring painted toenails and toe rings. Honestly, these would only appeal to those with a foot fetish.

Lastly, artist Leanie van der Vyver's shoes have left many confused. Designed to be worn on the toes, these shoes seem to defy the purpose of walking.
