Comedian George Kagwe, alias Mpesa Lady, has been making waves in the entertainment industry, but his journey has not been without its challenges.

Speaking to Mpasho in an exclusive interview, Kagwe revealed that the loss of his father to cancer in 2011 left him depressed for nine months in 2012.

He recalled the difficult time, saying, 'I lost my dad in 2011 and that put me into depression in 2012 for 9 months and that is when I quit my job.'

During his father's chemotherapy sessions, Kagwe would often ask his dad what he planned to do with the money from selling their house. His father's response was to buy a new Benz from DT Dobbie, which Kagwe found puzzling, given his dad's normally modest lifestyle.

As part of his therapy, Kagwe would pick up and drop off his then-girlfriend at work.

When asked about his father's decision to buy the car, Kagwe explained that his dad wanted to enjoy the best things life had to offer.

On a more positive note, Kagwe's wife is very supportive of his career, even shooting his videos. 'My wife loves it, In the beginning, she was hesitant but right now she is OK with it,' he said.

She is also glad to see the kids doing it, and Kagwe feels that his career now has a positive effect on society.
