On Tuesday afternoon, K24 news anchor Rose Gakuo expressed her frustration with governors who kept journalists waiting for hours, sparking a heated exchange.

According to reports, the governors had invited journalists to a meeting at noon, but they did not begin until 2 pm, leaving the journalists waiting for two hours.

Rose Gakuo, a former student leader at Laikipia University, did not take the disrespect lightly and called out the governors for their tardiness.

"The issue is not the time that your excellencies needed to address the county revenue bill and other important matters. The problem is the media invitation which indicated we would begin at 12:30," she told the governors.

She continued, "Perhaps if we were told 2:00, we would have been here at that time and we would have made time, being told to wait for two hours is really unfair on our side."

Her words sparked a reaction from the governors, who apologized and announced that they would shut down all counties if the issue was not resolved by September 16.

They also warned that county staff would not receive salaries if the issue was not resolved, with some staff members having not been paid for two months.
