On August 30, 2019, Kenya's education sector was in crisis, with teachers and students facing numerous challenges. In a desperate bid to seek help, former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General Wilson Sossion pleaded with Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha.
According to reports, Sossion's plea was a result of the dire situation in the education sector, which had been plagued by issues such as lack of resources, inadequate infrastructure, and poor working conditions for teachers.
Magoha, who had taken over as Education CS just a few months prior, was expected to provide a solution to the problems facing the education sector. However, it remains unclear whether his administration was able to address the concerns raised by Sossion.
