As of now, Kenyans must book an appointment before visiting immigration centers to pick up their processed e-Passports.

According to a statement issued by the Immigration Department on Thursday, August 30, 2019, applicants can book appointments through the e-Citizen portal to ease congestion in the stations.

When booking an appointment, applicants must specify the date and time they wish to collect their passports.

As stated by the Immigration Department, "You will be required to book an appointment in the e-citizen portal specifying the date and time you wish to collect your passport. Please note that the passports are collected at the station where you took your biometrics."

Applicants must carry an appointment slip, original National ID, and expired or old passport for replacements when collecting their passports.

This new rule comes after the Immigration Department introduced another directive requiring Kenyans to book appointments online before submitting their details for processing.

However, public officials with urgent assignments abroad, sick persons, students, and business executives with urgent engagements abroad are exempt from this requirement.
