Kariobangi Sharks Ready to Roar in Kenyan Premier League

Published on August 29, 2019

Kariobangi Sharks, a Kenyan football club, is gearing up for their fourth top-flight season in the Kenyan Premier League. Founded in 2000 by Nick Mwendwa, the current Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president, Sharks have made significant strides in recent years.

Under the guidance of coach William 'Kanu' Muluya, the team has produced impressive results, including finishing third in the KPL in 2017 and winning their first major trophy in 2018 by beating Sofapaka FC 3-2 in the Federation Shield final.

Sharks' captain Eric Juma expressed confidence in the team's ability to lift the league title, citing the addition of new players and the team's improved depth. 'We are very ready and fired up. Our season target is the title, the players are willing and waiting for the day – tomorrow, to start off strongly,' Juma said.

One of the key players to watch is Erick Kapaito, who has been the club's all-time league top scorer with 24 goals in just 40 appearances. Kapaito is ready to roar again in the 2019/20 season, aiming to score more than he did in the 2018 season.

With a strong team and a determined captain, Kariobangi Sharks are ready to take on the Kenyan Premier League and make a push for the title.
